NAFDAC nabs fake cosmetics producer in Lagos

Mr. Pius Effiong Eyoh, owner of Pasco Global Limited, has been apprehended by the investigation and enforcement directorate of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

The arrest, according to the agency, happened at the Balogun Trade Fair Gate, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos State, for illegal manufacturing of cosmetics products by the firm.

Some of the cosmetic products produced illegally by Eyoh’s firm include: Skin Balance, Perfect Knuckle Organic Peel Therapy, Golden Face Triple Action, Concentrated Perfect Skin, Skin Free Cream, amongst others.

In a statement on their social handle on Monday, NAFDAC narrated how Eyoh does not only produce substandard cosmetic products, but also package, distribute and sell them out.

After manufacturing the counterfeit products, he proceeds with the packaging by attaching false French inscriptions and Cameroonian address. He does this to make users think these products are foreign products, the agency explained.

Eyoh was caught by NAFDAC officials while he was manufacturing and packaging some of the goods. This has led to the sealing of the production premises and the scheduling of his counterfeit products for destruction.
